To always remember we need one another, Baby Steps relies on generous volunteers to participate in our mission and work.

Community Volunteer

  • If you are a part of a small community interested in serving as a group, we would love to hear from you! Email thrive@babysteps.org, and as soon as a need arises, we will reach out.

  • Baby Steps has an on-site Baby Boutique for our Student-Moms to shop (at no cost to them) for all things baby related! If you have new or gently used baby items you would like to donate, please email thrive@babysteps.org. Because we do not have the capacity to store larger items, we ask you to include a picture of larger items in your email. If you would like to purchase items we have specifically chosen for our boutique, please visit our Amazon Wishlist!

  • Providing dinner for the Baby Steps community and residents is a tangible way to serve our Student-Moms and their Tiny Tigers. Joining our Meal Train allows volunteers to prepare a meal, buy a meal, or send a gift card from a local restaurant. We typically expect anywhere from 6-10 people at our dinners and events. Click “here” to see what dates are currently available! After signing up to bring a meal, you will receive a follow-up email with more information about drop-off a few days prior to your meal train date.

  • Are you gifted with beautiful handwriting or are you a person that loves to organize? We would love you to volunteer with us in the office! This position requires a two hours per week commitment.

  • Calling all babysitters! As a childcare volunteer, you will attend an evening event of your choice during the week (typically from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.) to spend time with our Tiny Tigers while our Student-Moms eat, engage, and interact with their community.

  • ​If you have expertise in a specific area or a fun skill you think would benefit/equip our Student-Moms, we'd love for you to join us at a Community Dinner as our “Guest Speaker.” From time management to floral arrangement, there is an opportunity for everyone!

  • If you are skilled in any area of handiwork from hanging curtains to small paint jobs, we are always looking for people to freshen up our home and its ever changing needs.

  • Did you experience an unplanned pregnancy when you were in college? If so, we'd be honored to have you share your experience through our blog so others can be encouraged and empowered by knowing they're not alone. Please email thrive@babysteps.org for more information.

  • Are you a seasoned professional in your field and would like to invest in the next generation? We would love for you to share your wisdom and experience with Student-Moms who have similar career aspirations to give them vision and excitement for their future.

  • ​Our Student-Moms have a wide variety of majors and appreciate help with their classes. From basic prerequisites to advanced professional classes, if you feel that you are exceptionally knowledgeable about a certain subject and would like to empower Student-Moms in their education, this volunteer role is for you! We ask for at least an hour of availability each week when a Student-Mom​ is in need. After you fill out an application, you will be placed on our tutoring list, and we will contact you when a need arises.

Student Volunteer

  • Are you a student at Auburn University looking for ways to get plugged in? Baby Steps’ on-campus organization is filled with students who serve our Student-Moms and their Tiny Tigers in many ways! Check out our club on AUinvolve for more information.

  • An internship is one of the most valuable experiences you can have during your time in college.

    As a Baby Steps intern, you will be exposed to various aspects of the nonprofit. you will be given opportunities to integrate theory with practice through hands-on experience. The Baby Steps team will serve as a mentor as you gain experience, develop professional relationships, and clarify career goals.
